Aged in 80% french new oak barriques for 14 months. "Our goal is to craft Pinot Noir with sheer purity and finesse"
Pinot Noir, one of the grapes that creat the finest red wines in the world, is the type of red wine grape that I, Hiroyuki KUSUDA, like the best of all.

My dream is to produce a Pinot Noir that can be acknowledged at the highest level. In order to pursue that dream, I immigrated to New Zealand with my family in may 2001, where I believe has one of the greatest potentials to grow Pinot Noir. Please keep an eye on KUSUDA WINES Pinot Noir.

Powerful, meaty nose with macerated fruit and a lovely perfumed bacon-like edge amid some sweet, luscious honey notes. The palate is very savoury with soft tannins, herby dark fruit, well balanced with good acidity. Hints of green olives and some tropical notes give this wine excellent depth with a remarkable combination of spiciness and fruitiness.

This luscious wine obtained its name from the Italian Vintner, who started planting this vineyard in Martinborough in 1989. Bright gold in colour with high viscosity this wine combines flavours of apricot and zest of citrus-fruit with layers of honey and a hint of caramel. The sweetness is well balanced with a crisp acidity.
